A fun night at Races
On arrival, take a seat in the Orangery and enjoy the relaxing sounds from our resident pianist, where you will be served an array of delicious cakes, delicately prepared finger sandwiches and much more at our cocktail afternoon tea.
In the evening, join our General Manager and his team in the Orangery for a sparkling wine and canapés reception before proceeding to the elegant Lake View restaurant for a sumptuous four-course welcome dinner including a tempting dessert buffet.
Later, experience the beauty of the lake and mountain scenery at night on a candlelit stroll down to the Victorian gazebo by the lakeshore. Here you can warm your hands on a hot toddy or mulled wine and tuck into roasted chestnuts and toasted marshmallows.
The evening will be finished by a light hearted night at the races with the team.

Start Christmas Day with a traditional Cumbrian breakfast and a glass of Bucks Fizz. Afterwards, take part in our Santa’s scavenger hunt around the gardens - it’s the perfect way to build up an appetite for our Head Chef’s fabulous five-course Christmas Day lunch served in the Lake View Restaurant.
The afternoon is all about relaxation, so settle down for the King's speech at 3pm where you can help yourself to our indulgent hot chocolate station. Expect the full works - milk and white chocolate, Nutella, whipped cream, mini marshmallows and more. Father Christmas will be making an appearance, along with our legendary caricaturist, who will provide you with a unique memento of your stay with us.
In the evening, enjoy a Christmas Lakes & Fells buffet, where you will sample some traditional local delicacies, followed by a light-hearted quiz. Don’t forget to also take part in our ‘guess the weight of the Christmas cake competition’ and a fun, mince pie blind tasting – each with prizes to be won.

Breakfast on Boxing Day would not be the same without a glass of the renowned Inn on the Lake hot punch. After breakfast we have arranged a guided walk from the hotel to a special location where you will see the Lake District at its most spectacular. On your return, soup, sandwiches and sweet treats await you which you can enjoy in one of our cosy lounges.
In the afternoon (weather permitting) gather the family for a trip on an Ullswater Steamer. Admire the beautiful scenery as you gently cruise along the lake with a glass of hot mulled wine, mince pie and a slice of Christmas cake.
Later on, dress to impress for a photo in front of the Christmas tree followed by a splendid five-course black-tie dinner. Afterwards, join us at the James Bond themed casino tables where the first dry Martini – shaken, not stirred – is on us. Have a flutter with fun money for a chance to win a bottle of champagne. If you feel like dancing, enjoy live entertainment from our resident singer which is followed by a night time snack.
